About the APG
Local support and Networks
The development of local networks and links is integral to the Action Plan for Geography Phase 2. This section of the website will list all the network meetings, events and other useful information going on in your area.
Networks are being developed over various strands of the plan, and focus on a variety of topics such as primary (through the Primary Geography Champions scheme), fieldwork and Chartered Geographer CPD.
Events, networks and links are also taking place all over the UK as part of other projects and are being run through a variety of organisations.
If you know of an event, network or want to share some information about your area, please email cgeogteacher@rgs.org to have it publicised here.

One function of the Action Plan for Geography is to 'nurture, support and sustain local and regional networks of geography teachers'.
Since September, Alan Parkinson has been working as Secondary Curriculum Development Leader at the Geographical Association. One of his roles is to work on enhancing geography networks, particularly online networking using the social web.
If you know of a network event that we have missed, or you would like to join a local network for the first time, or even start a network of your own, please contact aparkinson@geography.org.uk.
Primary Geography Champions
The Primary Geography Champions network has been set up to support primary teachers around the country with localised and virtual support. Find out more about the scheme on the Champions page or interact with the Champions and other teachers in your area online at our Primary Champions Ning.
