Australian Geography Teachers’ Association (AGTA) Conference

Author: RGS-IBG

The next Australian Geography Teachers' Association (AGTA) Conference is to be held at Scotch College in Adelaide from January 10th -13th, 2011.

The conference is on "Geography Going National" and should be a great opportunity to get some professional learning prior to the implementation of the National Geography Curriculum in 2012. We already have several high profile UK geographers presenting on their experiences of National Curriculum in the UK (for example Dr Rita Gardner from the RGS, UK) The CEO of ACARA, Peter Hill has also agreed to present which should be a great opportunity for us to be informed of the processes for 2011 with the National Geography Curriculum.

The website is now active at http://www.agta.asn.au/conf2011/index.htm

The website will allow you to register your expression of interest to attend and if interested to put in an abstract to present. We would love to see plenty of South Australian geographers on the program!!

Please think about attending this very significant event in the renewed development of geographical education in Australia.
