Brighton and Hove
The Brighton and Hove CPD network is led by Graham Goldup and Maria Larkin from Cardinal Newman Catholic School in Hove. This network has been up and running since 2004 and has already done some sterling work in the local area. The RGS-IBG plans to support the continuation of this work, encourage other local schools to get involved, and share the good practice of the network through these pages.
The aims of the network are to:
- Share, collaborate and disseminate best geographical practice and resources
- Give teachers in the area access to new ideas and innovation
- Develop a high profile for geography within the Local Authority
- Involve local primary schools and HE institutions
- Develop individual teacher's and department portfolios, with the aim to apply for CGeog (Teacher) and the Geography Quality Mark
- CGeog (Teacher) mentoring
- To address a range of issues related to primary and secondary geography teaching
Network meeting dates for 2010 - 2011 are currently being confirmed
