Report Writing for Unit 4 of the new A2 Edexcel syllabus.

Several schools in the Bromley area requested an Edexcel Report writing for Unit 4 CPD session. Simon Oakes answered questions.

Controlled Assessment: Edexcel Focus
Date: Thursday 18th March
Venue: Hayes School, West Common Road, BROMLEY, BR2 7DB
Details: Jonathan Wolton, Geography Subject Advisor for Edexcel talked about controlled assessment, including:
- Looking at some exemplar material
- Reviewing the changes in assessment
- Looking at the impact of controlled assessment
- Sharing good practice in the teaching of the qualification
- Addressing common issues and frequently asked questions

GIS Training- free and online access software- ideas and training
Date: Friday 5th February 2010
Venue: Bishop Justus C of E School
Presenter: Jamie Buchanon-Dunlop
The aim of the afternoon was to look at free GIS programmes and software available, and provided a small amount of training on how to use these programmes. We also gave some lesson and activity ideas. There may be an opportunity for follow up advanced GIS training after this event, if there is a demand.
The aims of this network are to:
- developing a beneficial, sustainable geography support network
- provide Continuing Professional Development and share good practice
- work towards CGeog (Teacher) and the Secondary Geography Quality Mark
- promote inclusive Fieldwork
