That sounds fantastic John and certainly demand appears to be growing for access to place data that show 'green' facilities. Good luck with the project and thank you for highlighting another example of the relevance of geographical skills to our daily lives.

Next week in Nice
There will be a special day seminar on the environmental mapping "Green Maps" run by Graham Gardner. The participants will be involved in creating a special environmentally aware map of the city of Nice. It will include participants marking in features such as toilets, bicycle hire, tram ways, parks, water fountains etc that don't appear in the standard tourist map.
Graham has the rights to create this map for Zurich and with several of our IB Diploma students we are working to create a green map for this city.

One way of gaining professional recognition is to disseminate your ideas through a professional journal. As editor of the Geographical Association's journal 'Primary Geographer' I am always looking for contributions from teachers who are prepared to share their ideas about what works - and what doesn't! - in their own particular contexts.
Each issue usually has a focus, but there is always space for articles covering a range of ideas. If you are interested in exploring writing for Primary Geographer and want to know more about it please do contact me through the GA website.
