Is this comments/discussion facility still active? Why have there only been 2 comments since May 2007? I have adapted the 'Who wants to be a billionaire module' for use at our school.(2008/9) I would be happy to share these resources with other users. I don't see the point of teaching the physics of weather systems, depressions, clouds, anticyclones, or synoptic charts and measuring the weather etc. In my experience teachers have to jump through hoops with ever more elaborate and surreal ways of helping students to understand these and after all this time and effort most students never really 'get' the 3-D and open nature of these systems. I'd save this for post KS3. I'd much rather spend the time focussing on how weather and climate affects people and environments in different parts of the world, climate change of course how to read the BBC weather map and find out online the latest predictions! Again then, a life skills element.

I think some sort of 'life skills' that link to geography (if you live in an area with a hazard risk eg flooding - how you should look aftre your property / get insurance etc) would be great while its still compulsory for all students to attend geog lessons - strengthens arm of subject within national curriculum? I'd rather see that taught than settlement patterns...
